Key updates: During the reporting period, the WASH Cluster, in coordination with partners, closely monitored the impact of escalating tensions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border and sustained response efforts to ensure access to WASH services for affected populations. Partners distributed 1,125 hygiene kits, while over 20,000 kits were prepositioned to support potential scale-up. The cluster developed contingency plans addressing potential influxes of returnees from Iran and Pakistan, as well as internal displacement in conflict-affected areas. Partners continued delivering WASH services to returnees and vulnerable communities across affected areas of returnees. Monthly coordination meetings at national and regional levels were conducted, providing a platform to discuss operational challenges, identify bottlenecks, and agree on actionable next steps. The cluster also maintained close engagement with the MRRD, addressing MoU-related matters and partner concerns. Overall, 578,704 individuals were reached with WASH services during the reporting period.
