Country: China Source: European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations On 26‑27 April, Qinzhou, located in the south‑central autonomous region of Guangxi, southern China, was hit by heavy rainfall that caused widespread flooding and resulted in rescues, evacuations, and damage. Media reports dated 29 April state that five people were rescued from a flooded residential building, more than 800 residents were evacuated, and numerous cars were left submerged. Rescue crews deployed boats to reach those trapped in homes, while emergency personnel waded through chest‑deep water in the worst‑affected districts. On 27 April, the city of Qinzhou activated a Level III emergency response for flood control. Forecasts for 29 April call for additional moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms across South China, followed by reduced rainfall and drier conditions on 30 April, with only isolated showers expected in the western and eastern parts of the region and drier weather in central‑south China.
