This document provides updates on the strategic initiatives and progress of the GBV-Data Ethics and Technology (GBV-DET) Task Team under the GBV Workstream Ukraine as of April 2026. The GBV-DET Task Team has been formed to focus on developing and implementing training, tools, and resources to establish ethical frameworks for the collection, storage, and use of GBV-related data. It aims to proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with technology-facilitated GBV (TFGBV) and ensure the ethical deployment of AI and other emerging technologies using a survivor-centered approach. The document outlines the task team’s mission, details key priorities such as capacity building and technical action, and provides examples of best practices—such as minimizing the collection of personal information—for maintaining data privacy and security in an evolving GBV data ecosystem in Ukraine.
