Country: Sudan Sources: CCCM Cluster, Protection Cluster, Shelter Cluster Please refer to the attached file. The ES/NFI Cluster in Sudan faces a critical funding gap for 2026, with only US$35.3 million of the required US$179.4 million secured—leaving coverage at just 19.7%. As the rainy season approaches, 15.4 million people are identified as needing Emergency Shelter and Non-Food Items assistance, though only 1.8 million are targeted and 1.6 million prioritized under current constraints. Flooding, waterlogging, wind damage, and fire risks are expected to intensify the challenges faced by displaced populations, especially as conflict, overcrowding, and insecure tenure complicate the situation. Analysis shows that about 6.91 million IDPs are exposed to medium-to-very-high flood risk across 183 localities, including 1,220 mapped IDP sites, and over 4 million of these are at high or very high risk in 163 localities. Disaster risk reduction, shelter reinforcement, and site safety are urgent priorities, and immediate action is essential to protect vulnerable communities before the rains begin.
