The WFP-led Logistics and Telecommunications Cluster (LTC) was activated as the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) on 31 October 2023 in response to the crisis in Gaza. This Situation Report provides a monthly update on LTC telecoms activities. All references to the LTC in this report relate specifically to the telecommunications area of the cluster. Summary Points β’ LTC Telecoms in Palestine continues to adapt its response in Gaza to sustain critical communications for humanitarian operations in a highly constrained environment, with a focus on expanding secure connectivity, maintaining power and network functionality, and advocating for the entry of fuel, spare parts, and essential technical equipment. β’ On 06 May, LTC Telecoms and its lead agency, WFP, met with the Humanitarian Military Interaction Access Unit (HMI) to review the import status of ICT equipment and recent changes to approval processes required by the authorities, which WFP will formally communicate to stakeholders. β’ In May, LTC Telecoms established a two-year Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with Track24, covering 07 May 2026 to 06 May 2028, to support satellite-based tracking of personnel and vehicles, and shared it with UNDSS for dissemination to UN agencies.
