Country: Nigeria Source: UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Please refer to the attached file. Across Nigeria, humanitarian needs escalated in 2025, driven by the intersection of conflict and insecurity along with economic hardship and the impact of climate change. Nigeria has one of the highest levels of food insecurity and malnutrition globally. Amid reductions in global funding, in 2025, the Nigeria Humanitarian Funds (NHF) implemented targeted measures to address nutrition needs in alignment with the Lean Season Response Plan. Alongside this, the NHF also allocated funds to promptly address triggers such as potential cholera outbreaks, flood events, protection concerns, and climate shocks. These efforts were made possible through generous donor contributions totalling $16.2 million received from the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Canada, Switzerland, Ireland, Norway, Luxembourg and private entities. More than 70 per cent of funding was allocated to local partners, either directly or indirectly, a reflection of the Fund’s commitment to supporting local leadership in alignment with the Humanitarian Reset and the Nigeria Transition.
